Summary
What does Jesus want me to be? What does Jesus want me to do? These questions are not only wrestled with by individuals, but also by Christian communities and churches. We want to know, “What kind of church is Jesus calling us to be?” The problem is that too often we try to substitute our personal preferences in place of Jesus’ holy desires. Let us therefore seek what he has to say on the topic, as we reflect upon the words and prayers of Jesus within the Gospel of John.
