Summary

In the midst of our darkness, we have hope in the light of Christ. In the midst of repentance, we anticipate the fullness of the joy of Jesus. We wrestle with the question of joy. It can be so fleeting, and yet in our readings for this weekend it is in abundance. And yet this is not joy without sorrow but joy in the presence of one who comes to us in the midst of our sorrow. Zephaniah, Paul, and John the Baptist invite us to experience joy in the midst of our sadness as we prepare for our Lord’s coming.

Detail
