Hope of a Savior

Summary
Today’s Psalm orders, “Be lifted up, O ancient doors, that the King of glory may come in.” But if only those with clean hands and a pure heart can enter His Holy Place, what hope do we have? Jesus’ birth marks the fulfillment of the promise “God with us.” His presence set in motion the cleansing we all need, of our hands, our hearts, and our minds on the cross. Because of God’s gracious presence and sacrifice on the cross, Paul writes that we believers “are loved by God and called saints.” And so we are! Lift up your heads, O gates. Be lifted up, O Ancient Doors! That the King of Glory may come in! Our King! Our Hope! Our Savior!
