John 1 doesn’t strike us like the other Christmas readings from Matthew & Luke. John doesn’t tell us about the “what” of Christmas but rather he focuses on the “why.” Why does Christmas matter? Jesus comes to fill our lives to overflowing with his truth and grace. Will we receive him and the message he brings?
