Tony Spelde
Music Director
Tony Spelde has led the Calvary music program since September 1976. He grew up in the south suburbs of Chicago. 1976 was a big year-he graduated with a Bachelor of Music from Valparaiso University, got married to Emily (also on staff at Calvary), and started teaching music in Beech Grove in September. He also earned a Masters in Music from IU Bloomington and Butler University in 1980. Tony and Emily met while singing in choir at Valparaiso, and he directed the Calvary Chorale for 30 years. Now retired, he spends most of his time working on Sunday services (playing organ/piano) and also enjoys time in the shop doing woodworking.
