Summary
The Baptism John proclaimed was for repentance, that people might be ready to receive the Messiah, Jesus. All people had something to repent of, some way in which they fell short of God’s commands. However, when Jesus asked to be baptized, John was taken aback! John felt unworthy to baptized Jesus. Did John feel inadequate? Not up to the task? Today, we explore our own calling as Jesus’ followers. How are we measuring up? And what does God’s Word say to us about our performance?
