Understanding and Wisdom

Summary
It is hard to think of Jesus as a baby, born of Mary, but even harder to think of Jesus growing up as children do. Our Lord grew and became strong not only in body as a man but in wisdom and the favor of His heavenly Father who sent Him. What are we to learn from this story? As we watch Mary and Joseph struggle to understand their son, we are reminded of our own struggles to understand. But we hear today even more a reminder of Jesus' dedication to His mission. We hear a call for us to grow up into Christ and to live as His holy, beloved, and righteous brothers and sisters, loving the Lord’s Word and His house, even in the midst of our own limitations and weakness!
