Have you ever wondered, “What are Jesus’ greatest desires for me? Here in John 17:11b-19 we have the opportunity to listen in to Jesus’ deepest prayers for those who follow him. As Jesus prepares his disciples for the time when he will not be physically with them, we overhear his desire that we remain ‘united as one’, ‘planted where we are’, and ‘sent to where we live’.
