Summary
Jesus invites us in Matthew 5:21-26 out of the shallow end of the pool into the depths of God’s word. This is the first of six contrasts that Jesus makes between His authoritative teaching and the teachers of His day. In our text, Jesus invites us to go deeper into what fuels the conflicts of our lives. He reveals just how serious He is about the topic of peacemaking and just how far He is willing to go to bring about our reconciliation with God and others.
