Summary
In a world filled by noise and activity, perhaps the most difficult thing for us to face is the quieting of our soul. There is much worry, doubt, fear, and anger that lurks inside. As Jesus steps into the wilderness in Luke 4:1-13, we see the path of humility, patience, and trust that leads him to succeed where the nation of Israel failed in their wilderness wanderings. As we face the temptations and trials of life, where do we look to for our identity, our strength, and our endurance? Jesus invites us into his overflowing mercies that quench the dryness of our souls.
