FAITH in ACTION
“Therefore, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses,

let us also lay aside every weight,

and sin which clings so closely,

and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us.” Hebrews 12:1

These Days are Named

BLACK FRIDAY- SMALL BUSINESS SATURDAY-CYBER MONDAYGIVING TUESDAY (How about WEEPING WEDNESDAY when you receive the billing statements?) These days are named for the familiarity of others. Many other days are named throughout the year. Today is December 5. Here are some identifiers celebrated today:

AFL-CIO Day Columbian International

Day of the Reef

Day of the Ninja

International Volunteers Day

National Blue Jeans Day

National Communicate with Your Kids Day

National Commute with Your Baby Day

National Sacher torte Day (it’s a special cake)

Repeal of Prohibition Day

World Soil Day

This is not an inclusive list. Each day within the calendar holds unique qualifiers from America as well as influence from around the globe. It is interesting to select a date to see what
other celebrations are being recognized. God has also named each day for us. He has given to us each day filled with opportunities to share His love with others. He provides the means and directions. God also gives us the words and impulse. Each day is God’s Day. During this Advent Season within the church year, we walk in preparation for the coming of Jesus. We also walk each day in preparation for His Second Coming. We are Called to spread this News with those that we meet and greet knowing that God goes before us. Let
us celebrate each day as a gift from God as in that day we seek to share and to show His redeeming love with others. Wear Brown Shoes Day, National Sock Day, and International
Cheetah Day were celebrated yesterday. When is National Potato Day? Let me know by sending a note with your children. A special prize will be given to the students bringing
in this information.
