The Shadow Knows
My father grew up when radios were the electronic source for news and entertainment. He listened to the radio like we watch TV today. I was exposed to old time radio as a child since my father continued to listen to a station that aired such selections. One of his sought-after stories was “The Shadow.”
“The Shadow” aired from 1932-1954 as it presented 239 episodes following the exploits of amateur detective Lamont Cranston and his companion Margo Lane. The shadow was the true witness as cases were shared.
We all cast a shadow. Ground Hog Day was Sunday. Even the ground hog casts a very influential shadow. According to legend his shadow determines the course of weather patterns. What course does your shadow determine? The expression of ‘casting a shadow’ refers to one’s influence. The hope and prayer are that we as God’s Called people cast a shadow that through the power of the Holy Spirit leads others to see and witness God’s saving and eternal love. We should do this regardless of the season.
