The Most Wonderful Time of the Year
The title comes from the Christmas carol notably sung by Andy Williams. It has already aired this week on radio stations playing Christmas music. The strange thing about this song is that the reason for the most wonderful time of the year is omitted. The birth of Jesus is not mentioned in the song. The reason for it being the most wonderful according to the song is spending time together with loved ones and all the festivities that accompany this time of year. It is too bad that the birth of the Messiah is not considered to be included as the real and true reason.
What is your most wonderful time of the year? Is this your most wonderful time of the year? Are there other times more wonderful that you identify with for a variety of reasons? Christmas does carry with it a massive load of secular invasions. Imagine the quiet and still night that the shepherds experienced. All of a sudden the angels came bursting the silence with grand and glorious hosannas. The shepherds were sent to go and seek the new born King. They went with haste.
May this Christmas be for you and your families the most wonderful time of the year as you too go with haste to seek the new born Savior and King. May this sure hope of Christ’s return make each and every day the most wonderful as you take the joy and peace with you calling upon the Lord’s Name.
