National Lutheran Schools Week — January 26-February 3

One of the highlights of the school year is the celebration of National Lutheran Schools Week. We celebrate with Lutheran Schools near and far. We celebrate the gift of God’s love.  This unites us as His Family. Much is planned for next week. The entire list with detailed information is included as an attachment. Here are the highlights:

Saturday, January 26: 

  • K-2nd graders sing at the 6:30PM service

Sunday, January 27:

  • 3rd-5th graders sing at the 10:45 AM service
  • 5 year incremental staff anniversary recognition and reception following both services. Mrs. Sheila Bolton and Mrs. Sarah Ebert – 5 years at CLCS.

Monday, January 28:

  • PJ Dress Day
  • K-8th grade corporate opening 8:10 AM
  • Class Buddy read together 8:45-9:15 AM

Tuesday, January 29:

  • Reverse Dress Day – students dress like teachers/teachers dress like students
  • K-8th grade corporate opening 8:10 AM
  • PTL Book Fair opens- runs through Friday, 2/1
  • 10:45 AM Class Buddy Lunch together- 5A & 8A; 5B & 8B
  • 11:25 AM Class Buddy Lunch together –Kdg, 1st, & 4th grade
  • 12:12 PM Class Buddy Lunch together – 2nd & 6th; 3rd & 7th

Wednesday, January 30:

  • Dress-Up Day- Church attire
  • Praise Chapel service led by W.A.M. 8:10 AM

Thursday, January 31:

  • Classroom CHOICE Dress Day
  • Parent & Student Breakfast 7-7:45 AM – (RSVP by 1/28- Slips sent home last week)
  • K-8th grade corporate opening 8:10 AM
  • 5th-8th grade assembly at LHSI 9:30 AM (permissions slips sent last week)
  • K-4th grade assembly at LHSI 12:30 PM (permissions slips sent last week)

Friday, February 1:

  • Family Time Color Day – (see attachment for Family Time group colors)
  • K-8th grade corporate opening 8:10 AM
  • Marty’s Madness Games Family Time Groups – 1:45-2:45 PM

Saturday, February 2:

  • Preschool 4-5 classes Pizza Pizzazz 5:30PM
  • Preschool 4-5 sing at the 6:30 PM service

Sunday, February 3:

  • 6th-8th grade choir sings at the 10:45 AM service

Steve Rensner

Mr. Stephen Rensner currently serves as Calvary’s principal. He was born in Chicago, IL. Mr. Rensner’s undergraduate degree in Elementary Education was conferred at Concordia Teachers College, River Forest, Illinois. He earned a master's degree in Administration from Butler University. He has served Lutheran schools as teacher and/or principal for 41 years. Mr. and Mrs. Rensner are blessed with two daughters, seven granddaughters & one grandson. A fun fact about Mr. Rensner is that his last name is a palindrome!
