“Therefore, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, let us also lay aside every weight, and sin which clings so closely, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us.” Hebrews 12:1
How Do You Measure Success?
Success may be measured and quantified in numerous ways. People often refer to the bottom line. What one considers success another individual may not. Success is measured when the determined and established goal is reached or surpassed. If the goal is set beyond reach, then success would be void of experience.
Our 2nd trimester report cards were emailed last week. Did you consider the marks successfully received? Did they match the goals set and established? Our basketball season ended this past weekend. Was it a successful season? Did the goals match your expectations as participants and families? We are partners with you in the task of helping children to grow and to learn. When parents, teachers, and students work together success is evident. Even so, success is again measured differently for each person and situation. We look for academic success, physical success, emotional success, and spiritual success. We praise and thank God for the opportunities and challenges that are ours to share. We thank Him for sending His Holy Spirit granting to us the gift of faith.
Without this foundation our success would be solely focused on the accomplishments and achievements that we experience.
God’s definition of success is found in His Word. When a lost sheep is found there is great rejoicing. Through Christ’s death and Resurrection our eternal success has been prepared and is complete not through any merit or worthiness on our part. As Christ cried, “It is finished” our redemption was secured. God’s promise is fulfilled. For each of us this is truly God-given success
