FAITH in ACTION
“Therefore, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses,
let us also lay aside every weight,
and sin which clings so closely,
and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us.” Hebrews 12:1
Clocks Reset
How many clocks did you need to manually reset following the end of daylight savings time this past weekend? Have you ever considered the number of clocks that you have in your
residence? I would estimate that many of the clocks are connected to electronic devices. Some may even reset automatically. Now the morning light shines while the afternoon sun sets earlier. The same amount of sunlight is available. We simply change the hours and time that correspond with each season. Our internal systems need to adjust to this time change as well. The clock said 9:00 PM, but my body felt like it was 10:00PM and time for bed. The clock said noon, but my body said it was 1:00PM and well past lunch time. Even Bailey has been impacted by this change.
Imagine the number of times in a day that you look at a clock, computer, cell phone, microwave oven, car radio for the time of day. I would estimate over 100 hundred times. We can’t
help but look for time is posted nearly everywhere we look. Time dictates much of our coming and going. We are bound by time. God is not.
The Bible tells us that God is not bound by the constraints of time. His love and presence are eternal. The Holy Spirit has reset us as His Called people through the death and
Resurrection of Jesus. We stand immune from the limits of time. Our eternal life is secure in the empty tomb. No changes or resets of time can change that salvation on Christ. We walk in faith as we share that joy and peace each day.
