Adult Ministry

Multiple programs provide many opportunities for fellowship, education and intergenerational ministry activities.

What types of activities are available?
  • Monthly intergenerational Bible study – 1st Sunday
  • Monthly Lunch & Learn – 3rd Wednesday, 11:30 a.m.
  • Monthly Lunch Out
  • Biennial Book Sale – September
  • Operation Christmas Child – November
What are the age requirements to participate?

All adults, guys and gals, are welcome to attend; our monthly luncheon attendees range in age from mid-forties to early nineties; average number in attendance was 50 in 2011.

Here’s a glimpse of a typical Lunch & Learn:

Held in the south narthex beginning with an opening prayer, lunch buffet includes a provided, publicized entrée. Attendees are asked (but not required) to bring “a dollar or two and a dish to share.” We always eat well! Birthdays and prayer needs are recognized, plus we have a skit, poem, or humorous reading, and announce upcoming events and other items of interest. Programs last 45 minutes to an hour, and cover a wide range of topics, including history, medicine, science, religion, current events, and hobbies; our presenters’ list includes authors, doctors, and TV personalities. Lunch & Learn is held at 11:30 AM the third Wednesday of the month. Thanks to all who participate and contribute time, food, energy, prayers, humor and talents to make these popular fellowship events so successful.
